Numerical Analysis and Experimental Investigation of Cavitating Flows Considering Thermal and Compressibility Effects

This article deals with the numerical simulation of unsteady cavitating flow around hydrofoils, supported by experimental research realized in a cavitation tunnel situated Centre Hydraulic Research. Two straight NACA hydrofoils (NACA0020 and NACA2412) were employed. The comprehensive CFD analysis was based on scale-resolving simulations (hereinafter SRS) aim capturing correctly interactions between structures re-entrant as well compressibility thermal effects cavitation. static pressure fluctuations during cavity oscillation cycles evaporation condensation processes are discussed detail.
